Therefore, larger <b>fabricators<\/b> have installed NC (Numerically Controlled) tooling, which registers and drills in response to keyed in data. These can drill many holes in flanges and webs of rolled <b>steel<\/b> sections simultaneously. It is also possible to bending &amp; cutting this is particularly useful where square holes are specified such as anchor plates for foundation bolts. While this method is faster compared to drilling, punching creates distortion and material strain hardening around the holes, which increase with material thickness. Its use is currently restricted to smaller thickness plates. Typical materials cut with a plasma torch include steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass and copper, although other conductive metals may be cut as well. Plasma cutting is often used in fabrication shops, automotive repair and restoration, industrial construction, and salvage and scrapping operations. Due to the high speed and precision cuts combined with low cost, plasma cutting sees widespread use from large-scale industrial CNC applications down to small hobbyist shops.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Bending of plates, or plate bending, refers to the <b>deflection of a plate perpendicular to the plane of the plate under the action of external forces and
